This item ships directly from our supplier, which is why it costs what it does. It is slower than Prime and we would rather say so now than surprise you later.

Most kitchen scissors are office scissors that ended up in a drawer. These are not. They are one piece of SK5 steel, heavy in the hand, with a bone notch behind the pivot - which is the bit that lets you go through a chicken joint instead of sawing at it.

The top blade is serrated for most of its length, so it grips instead of sliding. Behind the pivot there is a bottle-opener cut-out, and a set of gripper teeth sits between the handles for jar lids and shell cracking. That is the whole appeal: it replaces about four things you already own.

23cm long, 9.5cm across the handles, with an 8.5cm blade.

What you get

  • SK5 steel, one-piece all-metal build
  • Bone notch behind the pivot for poultry joints
  • Serrated top blade so food does not slide
  • Bottle-opener cut-out and gripper teeth in the handles
  • 23cm long, 8.5cm blade
